Before Surgery
How do I know if I am a good candidate for surgery?
The first step to getting your surgery done is having a consultation. Dr. Quintero will check that you are in good physical health and that your BMI is good enough to have a safe surgery. Before surgery, our office will request a medical clearance to ensure your safety. If you have any medical conditions, Dr. Quintero will determine the best course of action. Sometimes, a specialist’s clearance will be required for surgery, but you can still be a good candidate.
How much does the surgery cost?
The price varies depending on the procedure and the individual. Every surgery plan is different because every person is different and has different needs. After an evaluation, we will provide you with a customized quote. We also offer financing options to help make your procedure more affordable.
How do I prepare for surgery?
Preparing for surgery involves following specific guidelines provided by our office, such as stopping certain medications, such as ibuprofen and aspirin, quitting smoking (30 days before surgery), arranging for someone to pick you up after surgery, getting massages, and getting your medications. You will be provided with detailed pre-operative guidelines to ensure you are prepared for surgery.
Can I combine multiple procedures?
Yes, combining procedures is common and safe for many patients. This may reduce overall recovery time and anesthesia exposure. During your consultation, we will discuss whether combining procedures is appropriate for your goals and health status. The safety of our patients is paramount.
How can I schedule a consultation if I am out of state?
We can accommodate a virtual consultation. Our office will schedule that with you.
What is a medical clearance, and do I need one?
A medical clearance is a formal approval from a healthcare provider, usually your primary care physician or a specialist, indicating that you are in good health and physically fit to undergo the planned cosmetic surgery. This clearance is essential to ensure that any underlying medical conditions are identified and managed before surgery, reducing the risk of complications during and after the procedure. If you do not have a primary care provider (PCP), we can set up an appointment to help you complete your clearance before surgery
Day of Surgery
What should I expect on the day of surgery?
On the day of your surgery, you’ll arrive at the clinic a few hours before your surgery. You will meet the surgical team, review the procedure, get some tests done (nicotine, alcohol, and drugs), and undergo any necessary pre-operative assessments. After surgery, you’ll spend some time in recovery before being discharged to go home. You must arrange for someone to drive you home. Under no circumstance will you be allowed to leave the center alone, drive yourself, or take an uber.
How long will the procedure take?
The length of the procedure depends on the procedure. Typically, single procedures take 2-3 hours, and combined procedures take 4-5 hours. We will give you a more accurate time during your pre-op on the day of surgery.

Recovery from surgery varies from person to person, but most patients can return to light activities within a few days. As part of your surgery package, you’ll be provided with a compression garment as well as other useful items to help during your first days of recovery.

For Traveling Patients
Where do I stay?
We can help you find nearby hotels or AirBNB accommodations during your stay in Miami. For the follow-up visits, it is recommended that you stay within a 30-minute drive from the surgical center.
Should I bring someone, or can I do this alone?
You are required to bring a friend or relative you feel comfortable with caring for you after your surgery. They will be required to pick you up after surgery and take you to your accommodation. In cases where there is no one available to help you, we can provide you with options for nursing services. During the first few days, the caretaker will receive postoperative instructions, including medication information and helpful tips. By law, patients are not allowed to leave the surgical center alone as they will be under the residual effects of Anesthesia. Typically, we ask the caretaker to accompany the patient during the first 48 to 72 hrs to ensure you have all the help you need.
